Parking & EV Charging

Using Hips QR Payment on EV and parking stations provides a lot more payment options for the customer. Hips QR works with standalone parking stations as well as centrally connected stations. For standalone stations, the Hips U1 access point needs to be placed inside the parking station to receive payment approval signals from Hips.
  1. The customer scans the QR code sticker with the built-in camera function on the phone (no extra app required).
  2. Hips will now connect to the station via Hips U1 access point, or via a webhook to a central system and enable the station for payment. During this time the customer will see a "Please wait" message on the phone.
  3. The customer can now choose parking amount on parking station or on the phone.
  4. The customer selects payment method and complete the payment on the phone.
  5. Hips will now connect to the station via Hips U1 access point, or via a webhook to complete the order.

USE CASE

Vending & Self Service

Using Hips QR Payment on vending and self service machines offers a lot more payment options for the customer. Use Hips QR together with a card reader or stand alone. For standalone stations, the Hips U1 access point needs to be connected via MDB or relay ports to the vending machine to receive the cashless protocol signals from Hips.
  1. The customer scans the QR code sticker with the built-in camera function on the phone (no extra app required)
  2. Hips will now connect to the U1 access point and start the cashless protocol via MDB. The customer will see the message "Please select product on the machine" on the phone.
  3. The customer selects product on the machine, which sends a standard cashless signal about cashless amount via MDB. That amount will be transmitted to Hips via the U1 access point.
  4. The customer will now see the total amount on the phone, and can complete the payment on the phone.
  5. Once the payment is completed, Hips will send a dispatch event via MDB and the machine can release the product.
  6. Should the product not be released to the customer because of any error, a refund will be initiated after 5 minutes.
USE CASE

Sporting Fees

Self service payment of sporting fees such as Golf green fees, Padel or Tennis course fees etc. The club will install Hips mPOS app on selected mobile phones (iOS and Android) to receive notifications on payments. Below use case is for a golf club.
  1. The club will configure each QR sticker with a fixed amount and product. In this case we have 2 QR stickers, one for Junior players and one for Senior players.
  2. The customer scans the QR code sticker with the built in camera function on the phone (no extra app required)
  3. Since the QR code is pre-configured, the amount will be instantly available for the customer, ie: "JUNIOR GREEN FEE €50".
  4. The customer completes the payment in the phone
  5. The club will be notified via Hips mPOS app that a green fee is paid.
  6. The customer gets a payment confirmation and can start play.

USE CASE

Taxicab / Taxi / Cab

Hips QR payment can be used in taxi as a complement to POS terminals to offer more payment methods, or to replace the traditional POS terminal. The QR Code can be directly integrated to the taxi meter or the taxi driver can use the Hips mPOS app for QR Payments.
  1. 1. When the drive is over and the fare amount is known, the taxi driver will ask the customer how the customer wants to pay.
  2. The customer in this use case wants to pay with PayPal
  3. Meter integrated QR: The taxi driver chooses QR payment on the meter and asks the customer to scan the QR code to complete the payment. The fare amount is transferred via API from the meter/taxi central to Hips.
  4. With Hips mPOS app: The taxi driver opens the mPOS app and enters the fare amount, then asks the customer to scan the QR code to complete the payment.
  5. The customer scans the QR code sticker with the built in camera function on the phone (no extra app required)
  6. On the customer’s phone, the customer will be asked to tip the driver from 0%-25%
  7. The customer completes the payment on the phone
  8. Meter integrated QR: The meter will print a receipt
  9. With Hips mPOS app: The mPOS app will get a payment notification and the driver will complete the payment as cash payment on the taxi meter.

Small Retail & Service

Hips QR payment can be used in Small Retail & Service as a complement to POS terminals to offer more payment methods, or to replace the traditional POS terminal. POS systems can be directly integrated, but in this use case the merchant has the Hips mPOS app installed on his/her mobile phone.
  1. The customer scans the QR code sticker with the built in camera function on the phone (no extra app required)
  2. The merchant gets a payment request in Hips mPOS app, and enters the amount to be paid.
  3. The customer selects payment method and completes the payment on his/her phone.
  4. The merchant gets a payment notification in Hips mPOS app, and the payment is completed.

Delivery

Hips QR payment is a great way for delivery companies to accept payments on delivery. A pre-printed QR code containing the amount and reference is generated in the PDA/Phone or the Hips mPOS app is used by the delivery man/woman.
  1. With Hips mPOS app: The delivery man/woman opens the mPOS app and enters the amount, then asks the customer to scan the QR code to complete the payment.
  2. The customer scans the QR code with the built in camera function on the phone (no extra app required)
  3. The customer selects payment method and completes the payment on his/her phone.
  4. Integrated QR: The delivery company will get a webhook (server side) with payment notification
  5. With Hips mPOS app: The delivery man/woman will get a payment notification in Hips mPOS app.
  6. The payment is completed and the package can be handed over.
USE CASE

Restaurants

Hips QR Payment in a restaurant environment frees up time while simultaneously offering guests more payment options. In this use case the restaurant POS system is integrated to Hips, but Hips mPOS app could be used if no integration is available.
  1. When the guest is ready to pay, the proforma invoice is printed as usual, but contains a Hips QR code . The QR code is dynamic and retrieved from Hips via API (contains amount, table number, waiter etc).
  2. If the guest chooses to pay with QR Payment, he/she will scan the QR code with the built in camera function on the phone (no extra app required)
  3. On the customer’s phone, the customer will be asked to tip the waiter from 0%-25%
  4. The customer completes the payment on the phone and may now leave.
  5. The POS system will get a notification webhook from Hips with information about payment, table, waiter and tip. A receipt can now be printed and the table can be closed.
